I made it to New York, and I have to agree with what so many people have said about this city. It has a certain energy that is infectious and exciting.
But it is going to take some getting used to.
On Sunday, my friend Rob took me to the airport for my one-way trip to New York. At the gas station on the way, the musak playing over the speakers blasted that cheesey 80's song "I'll miss you" by deBarge or someone like that. Noticing that I seemed to be making note of the moment, Rob said:
"I feel a blog posting coming on"
So true.
I don't have internet access at home yet, so to minimize blogging time at my new job, a list of thoughts from my first day:
1. Slightly comfortable shoes at the start of a NYC day mean blisters at the end.
2. I love not wearing a tie.
3. Sharing an office is going to be fun when you have great people in it, as I do.
4. Sharing an office with a law professor who has written a preeminent 7-volume treatise on copyright law is AMAZING.
Wow.
